Write for Us

Have a useful idea about wildlife, pets, or the natural world? We welcome article proposals that help readers understand a subject, answer a practical question, or learn something worth knowing.

Viltnemnda.net focuses on animals and nature. We also consider selected general articles when they offer clear, relevant information for our readers.

Topics We Consider

Our main areas of interest include:

  • Wildlife behaviour, habitats, and conservation.
  • Animal identification, tracks, and signs.
  • Responsible wildlife watching and outdoor activities.
  • Pet behaviour, everyday care, and life stages.
  • Wildlife management in Norway.
  • Nature-friendly homes and gardens.

We may also consider articles about travel, technology, home, lifestyle, and business. Please send your topic first so we can check whether it fits.

What Makes a Suitable Article?

A good contribution starts with a clear question and gives readers a useful answer. Explain unfamiliar terms, use practical examples, and keep the language simple.

We look for original writing with a clear structure. Short paragraphs and descriptive headings help readers follow the topic. Avoid repeating the same point or adding words only to reach a particular length.

Personal experience is welcome, but make it clear when you are sharing an observation rather than an established fact. Do not invent testing, qualifications, quotations, or first-hand experience.

Accuracy and Sources

Support factual claims with reliable sources. Research papers, public authorities, recognised animal welfare organisations, and veterinary resources may be appropriate, depending on the topic.

For statistics, research findings, and rules that may change, include the original source and relevant date. Do not present uncertain information as a confirmed fact.

Pet health articles must not diagnose an animal or encourage readers to delay veterinary care. Wildlife content should not promote unsafe handling, harmful feeding, or disturbance of animals.

Originality and Images

Submit work you have the right to publish. Tell us if the article has appeared elsewhere or is being considered by another website.

Images must be your own, used with permission, or available under a suitable licence. Include the source and any required credit. A picture found through an image search is not automatically free to use.

If you include images, provide a short description and relevant alt text. WebP files under 100 KB are preferred where image quality allows.

Links and Commercial Content

Links should help readers check a source or explore relevant information. Avoid unrelated promotional links, repeated keyword anchors, or claims that cannot be supported.

Please disclose any relationship with a business, product, or service mentioned in your submission. If your proposal is sponsored or promotional, explain this when you contact us so placement and disclosure can be discussed.

Submitting an article does not guarantee publication or a particular link arrangement.

Send Your Idea

Please include:

  • Your name and a brief introduction.
  • A proposed title and short outline.
  • The question your article will answer.
  • Relevant writing samples, if available.
  • Any commercial relationship or sponsorship.
  • Image sources, if you plan to supply pictures.

Send your proposal through our Contact Us page. A short, clear pitch is enough to start the conversation.

Review and Publication

We may request changes to improve clarity, accuracy, structure, or relevance. Submissions that do not fit the website may be declined.

Please agree on any payment, publishing rights, or commercial terms before work begins. Sending a proposal alone does not establish those terms.
